About me
Ms. Karen Lee serves as an Extension Program Specialist with the Small Farm Program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB). The program supports all producers, regardless of race, color, or religion, while placing a particular emphasis on historically underserved and small-scale farmers and landowners across Arkansas. It delivers a comprehensive, holistic approach to agricultural development through education, production management, technical assistance, marketing support, forestry management planning, and financial planning services.
In addition, the program prioritizes conservation initiatives and resilient practices that help landowners enhance both land productivity and income potential. The Small Farm Program is also one of eight participating states in the Sustainable Forestry Land Retention Program (SFLR). All services provided through the program are offered at no cost to producers and landowners.
With more than 20 years of experience in agriculture, Ms. Lee’s work focuses on training in production management, forestry, soil health, conservation programs, heirs’ property resolution, marketing, and business planning. She also brings 16 years of experience as a Family Self-Sufficiency and Credit Counseling Specialist and has received numerous community service and professional awards recognizing her contributions to strengthening community sustainability through outreach and education. Additionally, she has volunteered as a math and reading tutor for youth for over 15 years.
Ms. Lee believes that success is not defined by wealth, but by commitment to the process. Through her work, she remains dedicated to advancing inclusion, sustainability, and long-term viability, viewing it as a stewardship responsibility to ensure that individuals understand the processes, requirements, and pathways necessary to achieve sustainable success.
